The Department of Energy allows a tax credit of 30% of the product cost up to $1,500 when you purchase any Energy Star rated window or door. Brady-Built uses only Pella Energy Star rated windows and doors in our sunrooms. These guidelines are scheduled to change on June 1, 2009, making it more difficult to qualify for the energy tax credit. Buy your sunroom now and get the full $1,500 tax credit.

Changes on June 1, 2009
As part of The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 the energy tax credit rules will become more stringent. The new rules require that all windows and doors have a U value of 0.30 or less and a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.30 or less. Both values are difficult to achieve with the glass that has been used by most window and door manufacturers. The new glass that the act requires is more expensive to manufacture and will affect the price of products using it. We will continue to offer the best sunrooms in the business with the best overall energy performance, but like our competitors, will need time to convert over to the new standards.Until then, be sure to verify the energy performance of your windows when placing your sunroom order after June 1, 2009 if you plan to apply for the energy tax credit.

How to receive the Tax Credit:

  1. Purchase a Brady-Built Sunroom with qualifying Pella windows and doors
  2. Request a sales receipt from Brady-Built that breaks out window and door price (material only)
  3. Save NFRC labels from windows and doors.
  4. Confirm with your own tax professional that you are eligible for this tax credit.
