Three Reasons Why You Should Add a Sunroom This Year

Summer Sunroom StylesMore Americans are choosing to stay in their existing homes right now (rather than buying a new house) than they have in decades. The poor economy is largely to blame, of course. Instead of getting a bigger house, homeowners are choosing instead to remodel their existing space to accommodate their needs. One of the most beautiful ways to add living space is through building a sunroom. Here are three reasons why you should add a sunroom to your home this year.

1. Materials are cheaper right now

Because of the downward spiral in the building industry, basic materials have not been this inexpensive in years and years. It’s been a tough couple of years for builders, but the repercussions can be beneficial to you: if you’ve always wanted to build a sunroom but thought it cost-prohibitive, think again!

2. Add more living space

Who couldn’t use more room? A sunroom allows a family to enjoy year-round light and sunshine besides! You can use a sunroom as an extra sitting area, as a recreation room, or as a home office or sewing area. Its very versatility is what makes a sunroom really special.

3. Sunrooms add value to a home

When you sell your house someday, you will want it to be as attractive to potential buyers as possible. A sunroom adds that elusive “ooh” factor when buyers come through your home and will help it to really stand out from all the others.

If you’re considering adding more living space to your existing home this year, why not bring more light and sunshine into your house? A sunroom is an investment that will pay off in a variety of ways for as long as you own your home.
